Travelling RallyQuiz

Students move through the room finding partners, quizzing, praising, and coaching if necessary.

Steps:

1. In teams, students use AllWrite Consensus to generate a list of review and/or thought questions.

2. Students stand with a hand up, to partner with a classmate.

3. Partner A asks a thought or review question of Partner B.

4. B answers. 5. For thought questions: A praises the thinking; For review questions: A Checks. If correct, A Praises. If not, A coaches, re-asks, then praises.

5. Students switch roles so B quizzes, and then praises or coaches.

6. Students give each other a pat on the back, raise a hand, and seek a new classmate to partner with, repeating the process, using a new question from their list.

Social Skills: Greeting/Departing, Taking Turns, Taking a different perspective, Working with others.

Good For: Creating habits of mind, frequent review. Allowing student movement, reducing fear of failure and anxiety.
